Sub: Registration of Manufacturer/Packer under the Standards of Weights and Measures (Packaged Commodities) Rules, 1977.

 

In pursuance of rule 35 of the Standards of Weights and Measures (Packaged Commodities) Rules, 1977 every individual, firm, Society, Company or Corporation who or which pre-packed any commodity for sale, distribution or delivery is required to send an application accompanied by a fee of Rs.500/-(Rupees five hundrad) only to the Director Legal Metrology, Govt. of India, Department of Consumer Affair, (Directorate of Weights and Measures), Krishi Bhawan, New Delhi-110001 for the registration fo his or its name and complete address.

Guidelines

 

  1. Rupees Twenty (Rs.20/-) is payable by a Demand Draft payable to The Pay & Accounts Officer, Ministry of Consumer Affair. Sent Public Distribution, Department of Consumers Affairs, Central Bank of India, Udyog Bhawan, New Delhi-110001.

 

  1. The Application form together with the Demand Draft is to be sent to The Director, Legal Metrology, Govt. of India, Department of Consumer Affairs, Director Weights and Measures, Krishi Bhawan, New Delhi-110001 (Ph. No.-011 3389489, Fax No. 91-011-3385322).

 

  1. The Application form should be sent is duplicate in the enclosed pro-forms.

 

  1. Under the provisions of the rules, as they stand new, renewal of registration is not necessary.

 

  1. In Sl.No. 1 of the pro-forma, name of firm/ company in to be written.

 

  1. In Sl.No. 2 the complete address at which the registered office of Company situated is to be written. If the applicant is a `Company' the name of the Street , no., asaigned to the premises of the manufacturer/packer and the name of the City/Town and State is invariable to be written.

 

  1. Sl.No. 3 is to be filled if factories of manufactuers/packing premises are Located also at place or pleaces other than the address indicated at Sl.No. 2.

 

  1. In the case of Concern having more than one Units/Factories, registration of only one registered office of the Company (head office in case of others) is necessary. For this purpose one draft is necessary.
