In terms of Rule 19 of the
Rules of Business made by the Governor of West Bengal under Article 166(3) of
the Constitution of India distribution of work among officers of the Department
of Consumer Affairs will be as follows until further orders.
The Principal Secretary will be in overall
charge of all matters and in his absence on leave the Joint Secretaries shall
place matters before me.
I. Joint Secretary
(CA)
All matters relating to the
Directorate of Consumer Affairs and Fair Business
Practices including establishment
& allied matters including budget of the Directorate.
Integration of offices of
the three branches at District Level.
All matters relating to
awareness programme, observance of various commemorative events, fairs,
publicity etc.
Matters relating to State
& Central Consumer Protection Councils, District Consumer Information
Centre, District Consumer Protection Council, National Institute of Consumer
Education, Jagriti Shivir Yozna.
Matters relating to Consumer
Welfare Fund.
Any other work as may be assigned
by the Principal Secretary.
II. Joint Secretary,
(LM)
All matters relating to
Legal Metrology including establishment, audit, budget etc.
Any other work as may be
assigned by the Principal Secretary.
III. Joint Secretary (FORA)
All matters of the State
Commission / District Fora
Computerisation of the
Department, District Fora, State Commission and Directorates and Legal
Metrology.
Nodal Officer for I.T.
Any other work as may be
assigned by the Principal Secretary.
IV. Joint Secretary (B
& E)
Establishment matters
including deployment of vehicles and work distribution below the level of
Assistant Secretary.
Budget including grants from
Govt. of India.
Monitoring of disposal of
audit queries by the concerned branches.
Assembly matters.
Protocol matters.
Public grievance officer.
Any other work as may be
assigned by the Principal Secretary.
V. Deputy Secretary
(LM)
All matters relating to
Legal Metrology under JS (LM).
Any other work as may be
assigned by the Joint Secretary / Principal Secretary of this Department.
All the officers
shall perform such other works as may be entrusted by the Principal Secretary /
Joint Secretary.
